About the Artist

Kristina Sanchez-Mills is a fine artist, sculptor, writer, teacher and illustrator born in Paradisiacal, Costa Rica. She went to Law school at the University of Costa Rica and currently runs her own businesses: Kristina’s Fine Art and art studio Artistic Kreations with Kristina, located in Hixson Tennessee, where she imparts her students with the skill and passion that characterizes her.

In her own words:
“As a fine artist, each original art peace is a bridge by which I find myself able to liberate my soul and spirit from the vast emotion transmitted to me by life. My paintings tend to be a spontaneous response to the inner voice inside me, always striving to capture the essence of humanity, nature and matters of the spirit and Faith. As an illustrator I recur to the child in me, still full of wonder, still believing in
magic and goodness. It is that child that takes over when I am illustrating. Conveying
wonder, emotions, telling stories full of color and beauty.

As a writer, I love to mix both reality with fiction, facts and magic, darkness and
light, pain and joy. I approach each story with a deep sense of reverence; after all, each original story is much like a dream, a vision that would never be revealed the same way again. “

Kristina’s artwork has been exhibited in Costa Rica, Miami, Atlanta, Italy and Spain,
and collectors of her artwork reside across the world. For more information visit kristinasfineart.com or our FB pages: Kristina’s fine art and Artistic Kreations with Kristina.

What Readers are saying
  • I thought that the book was great because it shows the meaning of friendship. I felt sad when Freckles was in the woods by herself at night, in pain, and scared. I felt happy again when Mr.
Mack and Jake came to help Freckles. – Carly age 10
  • I loved the book and think it’s wonderful for kids. The drawings are amazing. – John, age 10
  • This book has a very good moral, and I think it is cool that the author is making a series. Some of the vocabulary isn’t the easiest for a beginning reader, but if a parent reads it to them, kids would really like it. The illustrations make the story fun to read. – Julia age 12
  • I liked that there was a good snake, and I liked the colors of the milk cows. – Scarlett age 4
