I eat out a lot because unfortunately, I lack the skills my mom has, and hands down I have never had any food that even comes close to my mom's. Daughter,     CaNesha Gordon

The first time Shirley invited me to dinner, I was pleasantly surprised. Shirley puts a new meaning to Soul Food. The dinner consisted of several meats, many vegetables, and desserts. When you see and taste Shirley's meals you realize that she puts her heart and soul into her cooking.

For me to say that my mother's cooking is delicious would be bias. That was until I started cooking at the fire hall. You see I am a Lieutenant in the Fire Department. The meals I cook at the fire hall are straight from my mother's recipes. I get so many compliments, and asked how did I make this or what did I put in this to make it so good. My reply is always, "I get it from my mother."
