- I started writing poetry while teaching
in a one-room schoolhouse in rural Illinois during World War
II to help the students grasp key learning concepts. My poetry
is a gift from God and He allows ideas to flow into my head;
the rest is up to me. This book is a compilation of over 60 years
of writing and includes a wide range of topics from daily life,
family, and religious experiences. I hope you enjoy my life-time
of writing and will share the experiences with your loved ones.

- I don't know why I do it.
- I've nothing profound to say!
- But late in the night
- I sit in the light
- And scribble and scribble away.
