. This earthly pilgrimage has often been
metaphorically referred to as traveling down a road or path.
Several years ago I started writing down in poetic form some
biblical truths and principles that I have learned, and am learning,
along the way (the "path").
. When I was a child my father would sometimes tell my brothers
and me about some of the old hymn writers - their stories and
something about the theology in their writings. I think that's
probably where I developed my love for expressing these truths
in that way. The poems do not appear in the order in which they
were written but rather by subject matter. The comments introducing
each subject were written by Jacob Hatcher.
- Jim Hatcher's works of poetry come forth
in the common man's language but with the wisdom of a true theologian.
I find them to always be glory of God focused, Christ honoring,
and Bible saturated. Each line is filtered through a heart that
loves the truth and loves the Savior. This collection is a rich
treasure for the parishioner or the pastor. I could not more
highly recommend it.
