I woke in the middle of the night
with the story of Sara and thought I would write
it in memory of my wife, and give the proceeds to my church and
to the hospice facilities where I volunteer. Grief is perhaps
the most difficult of human emotions to face, though it has the
potential for being the most therapeutic as well. Grief is not
a bad thing, for grief is the cost of having loved. Sara represents
these aspects of grief and, more importantly, of love. |

Ed Robinette began writing at the age
of 84 after his wife of 58 years, Margaret, passed away following
a long illness. He retired from the Coca Cola Company after twenty
years, while his wife served at White Oak Baptist Church for
thirty years. He lives in Chattanooga, Tennessee, and has two
children, six grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
He still volunteers one day a week at
Parkridge Hospital, volunteers with the American Red Cross, and
volunteers with Hospice of Chattanooga where he visits five nursing
homes each wweek.
Robinette served with the Marine Corp
during World War II and survived three major battles. He is author
of Adventures of a Marine, published in 2011. |
