The Naked Truth is a collection of poems based on reality. Some are based on the ridiculousness of reality. It is a slice of life, as seen through the eyes of the author. Since life consists of happiness, sadness, introspection and observation, her poems reflect those things as well. Treating a sad situation with humor is not disrespectful, as she sees it, but a way to cope, to see things from a different perspective. Care giving to elderly parents provides the acknowledgment of sadness, but also the allowance of humor at the same time.

Have you ever wished you had kept a record of the adorable incidents with your children and grandchildren? What about the times of humor with your aging parents? Here, the author presents some of hers.
Joan Grantham is married with three grown children and four grandchildren, all living less than a mile from each other, on Sale Creek Mountain, in Tennessee. They affectionately call it "The Funny Farm". She is currently working on a historical novel based on her husband's ancestors, who came from Mayfield, Kentucky in the eighteen hundreds. She is the family history researcher and recorder.
